WakeMed Selects Gozio Health for Mobile Wayfinding Platform
WakeMed to be first in N.C. to launch patented Gozio platform to help navigate WakeMed facilities and improve access to care and health resources.
Raleigh, N.C. (December 12, 2018) – WakeMed will be the first health system in North Carolina to launch Gozio’s patented mobile wayfinding and patient engagement app. The health system has selected Atlanta-based Gozio Health to develop the mobile wayfinding platform.
The app will offer a GPS-like experience for WakeMed patients and visitors, providing intuitive navigation and turn-by-turn directions to guide them from their home to their parking spot to their point of care inside any WakeMed hospital, healthplex or outpatient site.
In addition to wayfinding, the app will include several features and advanced capabilities that heighten the patient experience and improve access to care. Patients will have access to their WakeMed MyChart patient portal and medical records as well as a robust “Find a Doctor” database. App users will also be able to schedule an appointment, reserve their seat in urgent cares, check up-to-date emergency department and urgent care wait times and more.
Interactive maps available within the app will also provide users with step-by-step navigation to patient care floors, doctor’s offices, on-site dining options, pharmacies, nearby restrooms, parking decks and other points of interest.
“Improving access and engaging with our patients at each step of their journey before, during and after care is a core value of WakeMed,” said Debbie Laughery, vice president of Marketing & Communications for WakeMed. “WakeMed is a large and growing health system, and we want to make it easier for the community to find their way as they navigate our facilities. This app will be another tool to help guide patients to their point of care as well as access the right resources to meet their health needs.”
The app will be offered in addition to WakeMed’s existing wayfinding resources, including its team of WakeMed Guest Ambassadors – volunteers who assist patients and visitors to ensure they get to the right place for their point of care within WakeMed facilities.
The WakeMed wayfinding platform will include WakeMed’s three hospitals, several parking decks, three healthplexes and multiple outpatient locations.
“We are pleased to provide wayfinding and patient engagement services to the largest health system in North Carolina’s largest county,” said Joshua Titus, CEO and Founder of Gozio Health. “Experiential wayfinding has proven valuable to health system’s that prioritize patient experience. WakeMed is another example of a healthcare system choosing Gozio’s interactive platform to improve overall experience and continuity of care.”
Funding for the wayfinding app was made possible by The WakeMed Foundation.
